AFTER residents battened down the hatches when an intense dust storm swept through Mildura this week, the community is getting prepared to have a conversation about extreme weather events.
Two free events featuring a range of expert guest speakers will be held in Mildura and Red Cliffs next month as part of the Let's Talk About Big Weather program.
The initiative, led by Make a Change Australia in partnership with Mildura Rural City Council, Mallee Catchment Management Authority and Mallee Family Care, aims to bring residents, businesses, students and community groups together to explore local solutions to the challenges posed by the changing climate.
The events provide practical information and discussions on how people can make their homes, businesses and outdoor spaces more resilient.
