Toddler bitten by dog - Cartwright

A toddler has been taken to hospital after being attacked by a dog in Sydney's south west overnight.

About 7.30pm (Monday 21 October 2019), a 23-month-old toddler was in the lounge room of a home on Hermitage Crescent, Cartwright, when he was bitten by the family dog.

The baby boy suffered significant wounds to the left side of his face and was taken to Liverpool Hospital by his mother.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command and local council were notified and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The dog was secured by police and removed by local council rangers.
