A girl has died after being found unconscious in a backyard swimming pool near Tamworth yesterday, NSW Police say.
Just before 4.30pm (Sunday 9 September 2018), emergency services were called to a home on Peregrine Avenue, Calala, after reports a girl was pulled unconscious from a backyard swimming pool.
The two-year-old girl was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Tamworth Hospital where she died.
Officers from Oxley Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
