A Total Fire Ban (TFB) has been declared for the Mallee and Northern Country tomorrow 29/03/2019.

Total Fire Ban for Mallee and Northern Country

Tomorrow’s conditions in the Mallee and Northern Country will be warm with strong winds predicted followed by stormy weather including isolated thunderstorms developing from the west and the potential for large hail.

State Duty Officer Christian Thorley said the declaration of a TFB is a reminder that all of Victoria is still in the fire danger period.

“Tomorrow we are expecting warm conditions with strong winds before a dry change sweeps across the state with lightening expected,” he said.

“The conditions could make it difficult for firefighters to suppress a fire should one start, therefore we are asking people to take heed of the Total Fire Ban conditions.”

“People need to be aware of the increased fire danger and ensure your fire plan covers all possible contingencies.”

TFBs mean no fire can be lit in the open air or allowed to remain alight from 12.01am to 11.59pm on the day of the Total Fire Ban.
