The Victorian Tourism Awards 2026 present another outstanding opportunity for local tourism businesses to shine – and Campaspe Shire Council is once again committed to helping our operators showcase their strengths on the state stage.

To maximise this opportunity, Council's tourism team is inviting businesses to register for its Tourism Awards Mentoring Program, which will be launched at a Tourism Awards information session in Echuca on Tuesday, 24 March.

Campaspe Shire Council has again engaged leading tourism coach and mentor, Karen Oliver of KO Tourism, to deliver this program. Karen mentored Council's Tourism Team and three local operators through the 2025 Tourism Awards, with three becoming finalists and one securing Silver in their category.

The upcoming information session will help businesses understand the benefits of participating in the Victorian Tourism Awards, including boosting brand visibility, strengthening business capability, and celebrating achievements across the industry.

Attendees will gain an overview of the 2026 awards program and submission process, insights into what makes a strong entry, and the opportunity to ask questions about the awards and mentoring support available.

Following the session, businesses will be invited to apply for the one-on-one Tourism Awards Mentoring Program, which offers tailored guidance to help refine their submission and enhance their chance of success.

Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Mackrell, encourages local tourism businesses to take advantage of the opportunity.

"Campaspe Shire has a diverse and resilient tourism sector, and these awards are an important opportunity for our operators to strengthen their business, benchmark against peers, and gain valuable insights into their capabilities and growth opportunities.

"Council's own tourism team will again enter the awards to help raise the profile of our region, and we invite local businesses to join us in promoting the quality tourism experiences we have here in Campaspe Shire," he said.
