Tourism Confidence on Rise

Tasmanian Government
The Tasmanian Government welcomes figures showing a record occupancy in October for accommodation venues across the state.
Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events, Jane Howlett, said the numbers showed confidence in the industry and that efforts by the Tasmanian Government to grow the sector are delivering for Tasmania.
The latest Hospitality Tasmania Accommodation Report shows statewide occupancy reached 79.05 per cent, up 3.33 per cent on last year and only 0.75 per cent short of the record October set a decade ago.
"There's no doubt Tasmania's tourism and hospitality sectors are part of the lifeblood of our State – delivering jobs and prosperity to every region," Minister Howlett said.
"The continued upward trend in occupancy in October, and over the past year, demonstrates continued recovery since COVID.
"Tasmania welcomed more than 1.35 million visitors in the year ending June 2025, up 3.6 per cent from the previous year.
"We remain committed to bringing visitors back to the state, through an increase of $3.8 million to attract business events, and a new $5 million Events Attraction Fund.
"Our Government is delivering for Tasmanians."
