A man has been charged following a single-vehicle traffic crash in Broadbeach last night, 17 April.
At 7.20pm police were called to Charles Avenue at the intersection with Surf Parade after a white Ford Ranger crashed through a bus stop and collided with a streetlight pole.
The driver and sole occupant, a 31-year-old Pacific Pines man was detained by members of the public before he was taken into custody by police who arrived a short time later.
No one was physically injured as a result of the crash.
The 31-year-old Pacific Pines man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, drive UIL, driving of motor vehicle without a licence, possessing dangerous drugs, possess utensils or pipes, and offence to possess S4 or S8 medicines.
He has been released on bail and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on 29 May.
