Police are appealing to the public or assistance as part of investigations into a traffic crash in Coochin Creek yesterday, June 15.
Police were called around 4.15pm to reports of a three-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of the Bruce Highway, around 2km south of the Roys Road on-ramp.
A black Subaru Impreza was allegedly travelling at speed and driving dangerously through traffic prior to crashing into a silver Holden Captiva and a white Isuzu D-Max.
The passenger of the Subaru remained at the scene, but the driver was allegedly picked up in a passing vehicle, believed to be a white single cab utility with aluminium tray similar to a Holden Rodeo or Hilux, and drove away from the scene.
The driver of the Subaru was allegedly dropped off at a service station on the Bruce Highway in Glass House Mountains.
Police were called to that business around 4.30pm to reports a boy had been involved in a physical altercation.
The driver of the Subaru, a 17-year-old Caboolture boy, was arrested at the service station around 5pm and later released from custody as investigations continue.
The unknown car left prior to police arrival.
The Subaru has been towed to a police facility for forensic examination.
No one was injured in the crash.
Police are appealing to anyone with dashcam footage of the crash, and the moments leading up to the crash, to contact police.
Police are also appealing to anyone with information about the unknown car that reportedly picked up the Subaru driver.
Investigations are ongoing.
