Gold Coast District police are disappointed after 29 drivers were caught drink driving in a traffic operation conducted in the Palm Beach area over the weekend, Queensland Police say.
Police from Palm Beach, Road Policing Command, Gold Coast RAP and Roadside Drug Testing Unit conducted a high profile traffic operation on the Gold Coast Highway over the weekend targeting drivers affected by alcohol or drugs.
Statistics in relation to a traffic operation conducted in the Gold Coast Police District on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
Please note the operation included both a static Random Breath Testing site on the Gold Coast and mobile police patrols.

Palm Beach Officer in Charge, Acting Senior Sergeant, David Glaister said he was disappointed with the result.
"It seems the message to be responsible on the roads is not getting through to some drivers," Acting Senior Sergeant Glaister said.
"Every time you drink or drug drive you are increasing the risk of you, your passengers and other road users of being involved in a traffic crash which could result in serious injury or death.
"Road safety is everyone’s responsibility, so I urge all motorists to take care on the roads."
