Traffic operation Stitch in Melbourne's North-West

Greensborough Highway Patrol members nabbed 15 drink drivers during Operation Stitch in Melbourne’s north-west last night, Victoria Police say.

Police set up a number of booze buses in the Footscray and Northcote areas from 11pm and tested more than 4000 drivers for alcohol.

A driver returned a blood alcohol concentration of .140 per cent and one driver refused a breath test.

Seven drivers were driving without a licence and five were disqualified drivers.

Police discovered 16 unregistered cars and caught four drivers not wearing their seatbelts.

Two drivers were also caught speeding and three vehicles were impounded.
