Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after police located the body of missing person Wallace McGown overnight in the vicinity of Schulz Track.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
A/Inspector Dean Williams of Benalla Police said, "Police and Wallace's family would like to sincerely thank the community for coming together and assisting in the search, and for their support during this operation."
"This search was a major operation with The Police Airwing, Search and Rescue Squad, Dog Squad, Mounted Branch, and local uniform members working with CFA, SES and the community."
"Thank you to those who assisted in the search, local people and businesses who provided catering, emergency service workers and volunteers, and everyone who shared our posts, including on social media and through media organisations."
"We thank all involved and extend our sincere condolences to Wallace's loved ones in this difficult time," A/Inspector Williams said.
