A 24-year-old trainee constable from southern Tasmania has this week been charged with one count of stealing.
The matter is scheduled to be heard in the Hobart Magistrates Court on 25 August, 2026.
The arrest and charge arose from an investigation by Tasmania Police Professional Standards Command into an alleged recent stealing incident.
The male trainee constable has been stood down, immediately.
It is not appropriate to make any further comment given the matter is now before the court.
