Toowoomba Regional Council today (December 17) resolved to invite a shortlist of three companies to submit a tender for the next stage of Council's New Energy Generation Project.
Toowoomba Region Mayor Paul Antonio said Council was pleased with the level of interest shown by prospective firms following the launch of the procurement process in November.
"It is an exciting time for Council with a number of companies submitting an Expression of Interest in the project," Mayor Antonio said.
"This clearly indicates there is keen market interest to use Council's assets to generate electricity.
