On 27 November 2016 at about 2.30pm a 61 year old Smithton man has died after being struck by a falling branch whilst felling a tree, Tasmania Police say.
The accident occurred on a private property on Cuba Road, Smithton.
The man was working with another person who was uninjured when the accident occurred.
Tasmania Police, Tasmania Ambulance Service and SES units attended the scene.
A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
