Trio Charged in Sydney Break-Ins Spree

Police have charged two men and a woman following an alleged break and enter spree across Sydney.

In January 2026, officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command, with assistance from several other Police Area Commands, commenced an investigation following reports of at least 25 alleged breaks and enters across Sydney's metropolitan area.

Incidents of note include:

  • About 4pm on Monday 26 January 2026, officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command were told a sedan, a motorcycle and items including tools, a mobile phone, keys, a numberplate, a television, and a bag were allegedly stolen at nine different locations in Marrickville area The total estimated value of the stolen items excluding the car and the motorcycle is at least $7,125. An amount of cash and ID card was also stolen from Dulwich Hill area.
  • About 1.40am on Saturday 31 January 2026, officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command were told a sedan, an e-bike, two bicycles, tools, motorcycle helmets, motorcycle jackets, keys, and a tablet computer were allegedly stolen from five different locations in Concord, Rhodes, Earlwood and Ashfield areas. The total estimated value of stolen items is about $8,550, excluding the sedan.
  • About 6.30am on Monday 2 February 2026, officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command were told a hatchback, three wallets, keys, drugs, and a handbag were allegedly stolen from five different locations in Coogee area. The total estimated value of stolen items excluding the vehicle is approximately $11,790.
  • About 9am on Monday 2 February 2026, officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command were told a utility, cash, glasses, and a number of credit cards and ID cards were allegedly stolen from three different locations in Bossley Park area. A wallet was also allegedly stolen from Abbotsbury area. The total estimated value of stolen item is about $1,800, excluding the utility.

Crime scenes were established at each location and investigations commenced.

About 11am yesterday (Wednesday 4 February 2026), detectives from Inner West Police Area Command were patrolling Granville, when they attempted to stop a Toyota utility on Edin Avenue.

When it failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated, and a short time later, officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command located the vehicle abandoned at an oval on Byrnes Street, South Granville.

With assistance from officers from the Dog Unit, Central Metropolitan Region North, and Raptor Squad, police arrested a 25-year-old man nearby.

He was taken to Granville Police Station where he was charged with 44 break and enter and property offences.

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Thursday 5 February 2026).

Following further inquiries, with assistance from Liverpool City Police Area Command, about 12.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 4 February 2026), police arrested a 25-year-old woman on Christie Street, Liverpool.

She was taken to Liverpool Police Station where she was charged with three counts of aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal less than or equal to $60000 and aggravated break and enter with intent – in company – steal etc more than $60000.

The woman was granted conditional bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 4 March 2026.

Police will allege a third man, aged 27, who was arrested in Marrickville on Wednesday 28 January 2026, was involved in a number of earlier related incidents with the pair.

He is currently before the court charged with 36 break and enter and drug offences and was refused bail to reappear at Burwood Local Court on Thursday 12 February 2026.
