Three people have died following a crash in the state's south.
About 5.10pm today (Monday 9 March 2026), emergency services were called to Kings Highway, Monga, an hour southeast of Queanbeyan, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Monaro Police District attended and found two Hyundai hatchbacks had collided head on.
The hatchback driver and two passengers – died at the scene.
They are yet to be formally identified.
Another passenger of that vehicle was treated at the scene before being flown to Hospital in a critical condition.
A driver and passenger in the other vehicle were also treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for serious injuries and transported to hospital.
A crime scene has been established and investigations have commenced.
Kings Highway, Monga east of Braidwood is closed in both directions near Tudor Valley Road, and at Clyde Mountain Road, Bateman's Bay. Motorists are urged to avoid the area as the road is expected to be closed for several hours.
