Triton Road, East Devonport hit and run crash

Police are seeking assistance from the public in relation to a hit and run crash on Triton Road, East Devonport about 11am on Sunday.

A white Holden Rodeo ute travelling from Birala Place turned into Triton Road and struck a 28-year-old man who was on the footpath.

Police believe the man was known to those in the vehicle.

The man was taken to North West Regional Hospital in a stable condition suffering a leg injury. At the time of the incident he was in the company of two women who took action to avoid the vehicle and were not injured.

The ute later evaded police in East Devonport and a short time later two men were apprehended and arrested on Young Street, East Devonport. They are currently assisting police with the investigation.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may be able to assist with the investigation and urge anyone with relevant CCTV or dash cam footage to come forward.

Police would like to reassure the public this is an isolated incident and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
