A Tropical Cyclone warning has been cancelled for East Arnhem Land, including Nhulunbuy.
Bureau of Meteorology cancelled the warning at 11:00pm tonight, Northern Territory Police say.
A Warning remains for Queensland from Gilbert River Mouth to Thursday Island, including Weipa. A Watch zone extends from NT/Qld Border to Gilbert River Mouth.
"Category three Tropical Cyclone Nora continues to intensify as it moves southwest into the Gulf of Carpentaria," Regional Controller Daniel Shean said.
"The system is expected to reach Category four on Saturday."
