The Townsville Local Disaster Management Group has stood down after Ex-Tropical Cyclone Owen was downgraded.
Townsville Local Disaster Management Group Chair Mayor Jenny Hill said residents should continue to remain vigilant over coming days as significant rainfall has been predicted.
“The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting there could be some significant rainfall around Townsville over coming days so residents should take normal precautions – particularly if they live in low-lying areas,” Cr Hill said.
“The Townsville Local Disaster Management Group will continue to monitor the weather conditions and update the community with any relevant information.
“Residents should visit Council’s Emergency Management Dashboard for the most up-to-date information.”
