Truck crash to close Bruce Highway in Innisfail, QLD

The Bruce Highway will be closed for several hours today while crews work to remove a semi-trailer which overturned in an embankment north of Innisfail overnight, Queensland Police say.

At approximately 3am the semi-trailer was travelling north on the Bruce Highway when it has slid into an embankment on the opposite side of the road approximately 500m north of Woopen Creek Road near Mirriwinni.

While the incident occurred off the road, two cranes will be required for its removal and the highway will be closed for up to five hours as a result from around 9.30am.

Detours will be in place during this time for small vehicles, however, due to the nature of the detour roads, no heavy vehicles will be able to access the detour.
