A man has died following a single vehicle crash in the state's Central West.
About 2.30pm today (Thursday 27 November 2025), emergency services were called to the Golden Highway, Elong Elong - approximately 20km west of Dunedoo - following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District were told a B-double had veered off the highway and crashed into an embankment, setting the truck alight.
Fire and Rescue NSW and the NSW Rural Fire Service extinguished the fire, and a nearby grass fire.
The truck driver – believed to be a man in his 30s – died at the scene.
He is yet to be formally identified.
A crime scene has been established, and investigations have commenced into the circumstances of the crash with the assistance of the Crash Investigation Unit.
The Golden Highway remains closed in both directions between Dunedoo and Ballimore.
