Truck driver fined on Freeway, South Australia

A truck driver has been fined and his truck defected after ending up in an arrester bed on the South Eastern Freeway this morning.

Just before 8.30am on Tuesday 9 April, a truck lost its brakes and drove into the lower arrester bed on the South Eastern Freeway, Leawood Gardens.

Road Policing Section officers attended and examined the truck and interviewed the driver.

The truck driver, a 26-year-old Adelaide man, was fined for contravening the low gear sign at the start of the descent.

The prime mover and both trailers were defected.

Fortunately, there were no injuries.

Traffic on the Freeway was restricted to one lane while the truck was towed from the scene, but the road is now clear.
