Trump, Putin Agree No Deal": Next Time In Moscow

In their first summit since Russia’s 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine, U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin met for nearly three hours in Alaska on Friday. The meeting ended without any ceasefire agreement, though both leaders called the talks “productive.”

Standing before a backdrop reading Pursuing Peace, Trump told reporters,

“There’s no deal until there’s a deal. We’ve made some headway.” He declined to take questions.

Putin, speaking mainly in Russian but switching briefly to English, closed the press conference by inviting Trump to Moscow for a future round of talks.

“Next time in Moscow,” Putin said.

Trump responded with a smile: “Ooh, that’s an interesting one … I might get a little heat on that, but we’ll see.”
