The Central Queensland region is brimming with business boosts right now, and the Rockhampton Regional Council’s SmartHub is teaming up with major players in the mining industry to ensure local talent is best placed to take advantage of the opportunities on offer.
The CQ Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) Accelerator Program will offer local small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) the chance to commercialise their innovative business solutions for the mining sector, thanks to the Queensland Government, Rockhampton Regional Council and METS Ignited.
Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said the program is warmly welcomed given the mining industry’s consistent presence in our region.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for our local start-ups to get the support and guidance they need to take their product to the next level and revolutionise the mining industry,” Mayor Williams said.
“Additionally, participants can benefit from unique access to expert knowledge and advice from industry representatives.
“SmartHub Rockhampton is thrilled to be hosting this program, delivered through a series of face-to-face and online workshops by experienced mining executive Marcus Lang.
“We can’t wait to see local businesses tap into new opportunities and secure future work as a result of this program.”
