Tweed Shire Council is bringing together the Tweed's brightest businesses, entrepreneurs and industry leaders for the Tweed Business Forum at the Twin Towns Conference and Function Centre on 29 October 2026.
Delivered through the Succeed in the Tweed initiative, the event forms part of NSW Small Business Month and promises valuable insights, connections and opportunities.
The refreshed 2026 program has been designed to help businesses strengthen capability, build resilience and thrive in a rapidly changing business environment.
Australian Bureau of Statistics data shows there are 8,936 small businesses in the Tweed, contributing more than $1.4 billion to the local economy.
Mayor of Tweed Shire, Reece Byrnes, said the forum provides an important opportunity for local businesses to access expert advice, discover new opportunities and build valuable connections.
"Council knows that small business is the backbone of our community and a key driver of local economic prosperity," Cr Byrnes said.
"The Tweed Business Forum brings business owners together with the networks, expertise and support they need to grow, adapt and succeed, helping build a stronger and more resilient economy."
Sharon Mutulick, owner of Murwillumbah leather and menswear retailer Bolt and Buckle, said the forum offers small business owners a rare opportunity to step away from the day-to-day demands of running a business and focus on strategic growth.
"When you're immersed in daily operations, it can be difficult to find time to reflect on the bigger picture. The forum provides the space to step back, gain a fresh perspective and identify new business development possibilities," Ms Mutulick said.
Small businesses attending the Tweed Business Forum 2026 will gain practical knowledge and tools to help them adapt, grow and remain competitive in a changing business environment.
From using AI to improve efficiency and customer experience, to exploring new pathways for innovation and growth, the forum will focus on real-world strategies that businesses can apply immediately.
Attendees will also learn how to position their business for future opportunities through Council procurement processes, preferred supplier panels and potential supply chain opportunities linked to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Interactive activities, including the Big Map and business preparedness sessions delivered by the NSW Reconstruction Authority, will help businesses identify risks, strengthen resilience and prepare for disruption.
Delegates will be able to connect directly with business advisory services, support organisations and fellow business owners, while also registering their interest in tailored one-on-one sustainable business mentoring sessions.
The program will conclude with the signature Tweed Shire Networking event, creating opportunities for businesses from across the region to build connections, share ideas and strengthen professional networks.
Businesses operators are in encouraged to secure their place early. Registration is just $20 plus booking fee. To learn more and secure your ticket, visit: tweed.nsw.gov.au/tweed-business-forum
