Two arrested after brawl, NSW

A man and a woman have been arrested following an assault in Sydney’s inner west this afternoon, NSW Police say.

About 4.20pm today, emergency services were called to a park at St Peters following reports of a brawl.

Officers from Newtown Local Area Command attended and found two women had allegedly been assaulted.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended and treated a woman, believed to be aged in her 50s, for shock. She was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital as a precaution.

An 18-year-old woman was arrested.

A 40-year-old man, who is alleged to have been driving a vehicle, returned a positive roadside breath test and was also arrested.

Both were taken to Newtown Police Station where they are assisting police with their inquiries.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
