Two arrested after crime spree in Bendigo

Two people have been arrested this morning following a two week crime spree across Bendigo, Victoria Police say.

Just after 10am police cornered the offending vehicle in a car park near the intersection of Mundy and Myers Street.

In an attempt to avoid arrest the one male occupant of the car rammed one of the attending police vehicles. The force of acceleration caused the car to bounce back and subsequently damage another three cars (one police, two civilian).

The offender continued to avoid arrest and subsequently OC spray was used to subdue him.

Shortly after, when returning to the car, the co-accused saw the event and attempted to run from police. She too was arrested.

A 30-year-old man and 31-year-old woman are now assisting Bendigo police with their enquiries.

Local police would like to thank the community for their assistance in this case. After releasing a public appeal for this suspect vehicle earlier in the week they received a lot of valuable information.
