Two arrested at Elizabeth North, South Australia

Two men will face court after they were found allegedly stealing copper wiring from an Elizabeth North house overnight.

Just after 1am on Thursday 10 January, a resident on Main North Road heard banging coming from a vacant house next door and phoned police.

Local Northern District patrols quickly converged on the area and found a man on the roof of a house and another man on the property with a backpack of assorted tools.

Further investigation revealed the two men were were in possession of copper wiring stolen form the premises and also in the middle of dismantling an air conditioner from the vacant house.

Both men were arrested, a 28-year-old man from Elizabeth Park was charged with theft and being unlawfully on premises, while a 36-year-old man from Elizabeth Downs was charged with going equipped to commit and offence.

Both men were bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.
