Two arrested following aggravated robbery, NSW

Two men have been arrested and charged following police investigations into an aggravated robbery in Glen Innes last week, NSW Police say.

About 5.20am on Thursday 8 September 2016, a 28-year-old woman and 29-year-old man were asleep in their residence, attached to a local business on Church Street, when a person armed with a knife entered the premises.


Police will allege an altercation occurred with the 29-year-old man struck in the face.

The office was ransacked and cash was stolen from the location. The man in the home suffered minor injuries; however, did not require medical treatment.

Officers from New England Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation, arresting a 36-year-old man in Glen Innes on Tuesday afternoon (13 September 2016).

He was charged with a robbery offence, as well as two unrelated break and enter offences, and appeared at Armidale Local Court yesterday. He was bail refused to reappear at the same court on Wednesday 21 September 2016.

Just after 4pm yesterday, police arrested a second man, aged 27, and charged him with aggravated robbery relating to the Glen Innes incident. He was also charged with an unrelated aggravated break and enter offence.

The man was refused bail to appear at Armidale Local Court today.

Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
