Two arrested following Echo Taskforce warrants - Cranbourne North and Hampton Park

Echo Taskforce detectives have executed two search warrants in Melbourne’s south-east as part of an ongoing investigation into a series of alleged extortion offences, Victoria Police say.

Investigators believe a 21-year-old Sandhurst man was allegedly threatened and forced to make payments to associates of the Comanchero Outlaw Motorcycle Gang over a dispute involving a stolen motorcycle.

Detectives executed warrants early this morning in Huon Park Road, Cranbourne North and Channelle Close, Hampton Park.

A 24-year-old Cranbourne North man and a 24-year-old Hampton Park man were arrested.

Police also seized a number of items of stolen property.

Both men have been charged with extortion, handle stolen goods and theft, while the Hampton Park man was also charged with bail offences.

They will appear at Melbourne Magistrate’s Court this afternoon.

Detectives have released an image of the motorcycle, which has yet to be recovered, in the hope that someone can provide information on its current whereabouts.

The motorcycle is a black with gold trim 2016 Harley Davidson V Rod.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information, including the whereabouts of the motorcycle, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
