Two Arrested in Auburn Public Shooting

Two men have been arrested following an alleged public place shooting in Auburn last year.

Shortly after 3pm on Wednesday 23 October 2024, police were called to Chisholm Street, Auburn, following reports shots were fired at three people who were standing near a parked car.

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command attended and found shots had been fired into a home and a vehicle.

There were no reports of injuries.

A short time later, about 3.20pm, police attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command were called to reports of a car fire at Haughton Street, Carramar.

The fire was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW.

The burnt-out vehicle and a second vehicle were seized to undergo forensic examination.

The shooting is believed to be targeted. Both incidents are believed to be linked, with investigations commencing under Strike Force Martorell.

Following extensive inquiries, today (Friday 1 August 2025) detectives executed three search warrants at Guildford and Lidcombe.

About 6.15am a search warrant was executed at a home on James Street, Guildford, where a car was located and seized which will be forensically examined.

About 6.30am a search warrant was executed at a home on Talbot Street, Guildford where a 20-year-old man was arrested.

About 9.10am, a 30-year-old man was arrested at a home on Dudley Street, Lidcombe.

They've been taken to Bankstown Police Station. Investigations under Strike Force Martorell continue.
