Two boys charged following break and enter in Wellington

Police have charged two teenagers following a break and enter in the state’s Central West, NSW Police say.

Just before 11am today, two teenage boys were walking along Apsley Street, Wellington, before allegedly breaking into a garage and stealing a number of items.

It will be alleged one of the boys threatened an 80-year-old man with a weapon and demanded his watch, before the pair fled the scene.

Officers attached to Orana Local Area Command attended the location and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, police located the two boys, aged 12 and 14, at a nearby park. A short foot pursuit took place, before the pair were arrested and taken to Wellington Police Station.

Both were charged with aggravated break, enter and steal, assault with intent to rob and breach of bail.

The two boys will appear at a Children’s Court tomorrow.
