Two charged after assault in Kelso

Two men have been charged following an assault at a house in the state’s Central West, NSW Police say.

About 7.50pm on Monday 2 July 2018, a 50-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman were at their residence on Topaz Court, Kelso, when the man answered a knock on the door.

Police will allege two men, aged 26 and 21, claimed they were collecting money for a charity.

An argument followed and the two men allegedly assaulted the couple.

The two men left the house in a blue Suzuki Swift.

Officers from Chifley Police District attended and commenced an investigation.

About 10am yesterday (Tuesday 3 July 2018), the two men attended Bathurst Police Station and were arrested.

They were charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, and trespass.

The men were granted bail to appear before Bathurst Local Court on Monday (23 July 2018).
