Two charged after home invasion in Cabramatta

Two men will appear in court today after they were charged over a home invasion at Cabramatta yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 1pm on Friday 12 May 2017, two men armed with knives, scissors and a replica handgun attended a home in Curtin Street.

After failing to force their way through the front door, despite kicking and damaging it, the men went to the rear of the premises.

The men confronted a 62-year-old male resident and threatened him with the handgun and searched his pockets. The man was not injured during the incident.

Three other residents realised what was occurring and police were contacted with officers from Cabramatta Local Area Command attending.

When the two men tried to flee they were arrested by the officers and searched.

The men 26 and 28-years-old, were conveyed to Cabramatta Police Station where they were interviewed about this incident, and a similar offence at the same location earlier this month.

The men were charged with attempted special aggravated break and enter with intent armed with weapon, attempted robbery while armed with dangerous weapon and special aggravated break enter and commit serious indictable offence armed with weapon.

Both men were refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court later tomorrow.
