Two Charged After Police Seize Half Kilo of Ice

Two people have been charged after police seized nearly half a kilogram of methylamphetamine (ice) during a targeted search in the Burnie area overnight.

Members of Western Drugs and Firearms Unit and Burnie Uniform executed a search warrant at a private residence shortly before 10pm on Tuesday 3 March.

During the search, police located and seized a total of 475 grams of methylamphetamine.

A 32-year-old Upper Natone man was arrested, and charged with major trafficking and other minor drug-related offences. He was detained to appear in the Burnie Magistrates Court today.

A 50-year-old Shorewell Park man was also arrested and charged with possessing a controlled drug (minor offence). He will appear in court at a later date.
