Two charged following aggravated break and enter in Liverpool

A man and woman will face court following an alleged aggravated break-in at Liverpool yesterday, NSW Police say.

Police will allege about 10am today, a 30-year old man broke into a townhouse on Tindall Avenue.

While inside the house, he allegedly attempted to steal a necklace from around the neck of a sleeping resident, before leaving the premises.

The resident woke and locked the door behind the man as he left. The man heard the door being closed and returned to the house and allegedly kicked the door in.

After re-entering the house, he allegedly stole several personal and electronic items and left again with a 31-year-old woman who was waiting outside the home.

About 1.45pm today, the man and the woman entered a home wares store in a Liverpool shopping centre and allegedly stole a knife set.

They took the knife set to a pawn brokers shop on Railway Street where they attempted to pawn the knives.

When the store declined the sale, the man allegedly attempted to assault a shop worker before leaving.

Police from Liverpool Local Area Command were contacted and located the man and the woman at Liverpool Railway Station where they were arrested.

They were both taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged.

The man was charged with aggravated break enter & steal, larceny, common assault (x2), malicious damage, custody of knife in a public place and goods in custody.

The woman was charged with aggravated break enter & steal, common assault and goods in custody.

Both were refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court tomorrow.
