Two charged following aggravated burglary and carjacking in west

Swan Hill Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man and a woman following two incidents in western Victoria in recent days, Victoria Police say.

It is alleged a man and a woman were involved in an aggravated carjacking which occurred in a car park near Curlewis Street in Swan Hill about 8pm on Sunday 6 May.

A 58-year-old man sustained minor injuries during the incident.

It is also alleged a man and a woman attended an address on Latje Road in Robinvale later that night where two occupants were assaulted and two mobile phones stolen.

The two occupants are believed to have sustained minor injuries and did not require any treatment.

The car allegedly stolen during the first incident was located dumped on Latje Road.

A man and woman, both 31, were arrested at an address in Robinvale in the early hours of Tuesday 8 May.

The man and woman were charged with a range of offences including:

-Intentionally cause injury

-Assault in company

-Assault with weapon

-Aggravated carjacking

-Armed robbery

-Recklessly cause injury

-Aggravated burglary

-Common law assault

They both appeared at Swan Hill Magistrates’ Court and have been further remanded to face Mildura Magistrates’ Court on 7 August.

Detectives believe an attempted carjacking may have occurred on Perrin Street in Robinvale about 9pm on Monday night. It is believed the victims of this incident attended the Robinvale Police Station but left before speaking to investigators.

Police are urging these people to come forward.
