Two charged following Braybrook kidnapping

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad have charged two men overnight following a kidnapping in Braybrook, Victoria Police say.

It’s alleged three men attended a property in Braybrook about 3am on 9 August and demanded cash from a man there.

He was subsequently assaulted and taken from the property by the group.

It’s believed the parties involved were known to each other.

Detectives from Armed Crime Squad, Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit, the Dog squad and local police attended a property on Castley Crescent, Braybrook last night.

Two 22-year-old Braybrook men were subsequently arrested by police and the victim was recovered.

They have been charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment and assault, and remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this morning.

The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
