Two charged over home invasion, NSW

Two men have been charged following an alleged home invasion in Sydney’s south overnight.

About 11pm (Thursday 10 May 2018), police from St George Police Area Command were called to Matthew Street, Beverley Park, following reports two men forced their way into a house.

Police will allege the men, armed with knife, threatened and assaulted the occupant, a 24-year-old woman, and stole keys and a car before fleeing the property.

No one was injured.

Officers from St George Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

A short time later, two men, aged 38 and 24, were arrested in Ocean Street, Kogarah, and taken to Kogarah Police Station, NSW Police say.

The 24-year-old was charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence, robbery armed with offensive weapon, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner and negligent driving.

The 38-year-old man has been charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence, robbery armed with offensive weapon and take and drive conveyance without consent of owner.

They were refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today (Friday 11 May 2018).
