Two charged, strip club temporarily shut, NSW

Two men have been charged with drug offences and a strip club in Potts Point has been temporarily closed following alleged licensing breaches after a police operation early this morning., NSW Police say

Operation Pinocchio was established by officers from Kings Cross Local Area Command to investigate serious breaches of the Liquor Act relating to the supply and use of prohibited drugs at licensed premises.

About 12.30am tomorrow, police executed a search warrant at a strip club on Kellett Street, Potts Point.

During the search, police allegedly made 10 drug detections. Several items were seized and will be examined by forensic officers.

Two men – aged 26 and 39 – were arrested at the location and taken to Kings Cross Police Station.

The 26-year-old man from Waterloo and the 39-year-old man from Victoria were both issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for possess prohibited drug.

Both men are due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday 6 December 2016.

Licensing Police applied for and were granted, a short term closure notice to shut the premises for 72 hours from 2am today until 2am on Wednesday 9 November 2016.

Investigations into the alleged liquor breaches are continuing and further charges are expected.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
