Two charged with aggravated break and enter, goods in custody in Lismore

A man and a woman have been charged after police responded to reports of a stolen vehicle early yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 4.45am yesterday, police received reports of an aggravated break and enter at a home in South Lismore, where personal property and a vehicle were stolen.

About 45 minutes later, police received reports of a stolen vehicle from another location in South Lismore.

Police located both vehicles a short time later and spoke to a 42-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, who were seen in the area.

A search of the man allegedly revealed car keys, a driver’s licence and a credit card belonging to the owner of the first vehicle. The man was also carrying three knives and tools allegedly used for breaking into homes.

The woman was allegedly found in possession of car keys of the second vehicle, cash and cards.

They were arrested and taken to Lismore Police Station.

The man was charged with aggravated break and enter, goods in custody, custody of a knife and possess a prohibited drug.

The woman was charged with aggravated break and enter, steal motor vehicle x2, drive disqualified x2 and goods in custody.

The woman was bail refused to appear at Lismore Local Court on 20 June 2017.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Lismore Local Court on 20 June 2017.

Police are urging anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers.
