Just before 10pm (Sunday 21 October 2018), residents on Kinchela Street, Crescent Head, about 20km south east of Kempsey, awoke to two men breaking into their house.

The 55-year-old man and 50-year-old woman called out to the men, who then stole two handbags, a wallet and keys before fleeing on foot. A short time later, a noisy vehicle was heard to start close by and drive off.

About 7am today (Monday 22 October 2018), a man from another house located on Kinchela Street, attended Kempsey Police Station to report a break and enter where his keys, wallet and utility were allegedly stolen.

Following inquiries, officers from Mid North Coast Police District located the stolen vehicle, burnt out in South Kempsey.

No one was injured during either incident and both cases are believed to be related.

The two men are believed to be about 183cm and 170cm tall, with a medium build. The two men had their faces and hands covered and were dressed in all black.
