Two critical in plane crash in Orange

Two people have suffered critical burns after a small plane crash in Orange, NSW Police say.

About 7.10pm (Tuesday 15 May 2018) emergency services were called to Orange Airport on Aerodrome Road after reports of an aircraft crash.

A small four-seater plane was found to be engulfed in flames.

The two occupants, a man and woman, are being airlifted from the scene to Royal North Shore Hospital suffering critical burns.

Police from Central West Police District are on scene, and have notified investigators from PolAir, and have also notified the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB).

The incident will be investigated by NSW Police Force and the ATSB.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
