Two Dead After Sedan Hits Tree South Of Bathurst

Two people have died when a car left the road and hit a tree in the state's Central West today.

Emergency services were called to Beaconsfield Road, Black Springs, about 65km south of Bathurst, following reports of a car crash about 10.50am today (Tuesday 20 January 2026).

Officers attached to Chifley Police District and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command arrived to find the driver and his front-seat passenger had died at the scene after a sedan hit a tree. The man and woman are believed be aged in their 20s.

The backseat passenger - a 50-year-old man – is being treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for suspected leg injuries.

A crime scene has been established and police are appealing for anyone with information into the incident or dashcam footage to contact Bathurst Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
