Two people are confirmed deceased and a number remain unaccounted for as fires continue to impact Northern NSW.
Police have begun an investigation on behalf of the Coroner after a body was found in a burnt-out vehicle today (Saturday 9 November 2019), in the Diehard area, about 50km east of Glen Innes,
Earlier today, police were advised that a woman – who was found severely burned at property on Old Grafton Road at Diehard about 7pm yesterday (Friday 8 November 2019) – has now died in Concord Hospital.
State Emergency Operational Controller (SEOCON), Deputy Commissioner Gary Worboys, said a number of people remain unaccounted for in the New England area.
