Two people have died after a vehicle left the road, rolled then caught fire at Corowa, on the NSW-Victorian border, overnight, NSW Police say.
Emergency services were called to River Street about 6.45pm (Sunday 22 April 2018), and found a BMW had struck an earthen barrier before becoming airborne, travelling 70m before landing on a garden shed.
By-standers were able to drag a man from the burning car before it was fully engulfed.
That man, believed to be aged 24 from Corowa, sustained serious burns and was taken to Corowa Hospital but died a short time later.
When the fire was extinguished, a second body was found inside; the identity of that person is yet to be confirmed.
An investigation is now underway by officers from Murray River Police District.
Police are investigating reports that extreme speed may have been a factor in the crash.
