Woman, 100, and man, 75, die in Sydney crash

Two people have died when a car hit a pole at Toongabbie today.

Emergency services were called to Fitzwilliam Road about 11.30am today (Tuesday 10 October 2023), after a grey Toyota Corolla hatchback hit a power pole.

A 100-year-old woman, who was travelling in the back seat, and the front-seat passenger, a 75-year-old man, died at the scene.

The driver, a 72-year-old woman, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries before being taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command established a crime scene and are investigating the cause of the crash.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area. Diversions are in place on Fitzwilliam Road.
