Two people have died following a truck crash in the state’s North West today, NSW Police say.
Just after 4.15pm today, emergency services were called to the Newell Highway, Moree, about 3km north of the River Road, after two trucks crashed head-on.
Two people, believed to be the drivers, were located deceased at the scene. They haven’t been formally identified and their ages aren’t yet known.
Officers from Barwon Local Area Command have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The road is expected to be closed for a number of hours to enable examination of the scene.
Local traffic diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
