Two hydroponic cannabis houses found; woman charged, NSW

Police have charged a woman following the execution of two search warrants and seizure of 72 cannabis plants in south west Sydney, NSW Police say.

On Tuesday 17 May 2016, officers from Cabramatta Local Area Command attended a home on Salisbury Street, Canley Heights, and executed a search warrant.

Police allegedly located a hydroponic system containing 39 cannabis plants inside the home.

On Friday 27 May 2016, the officers attended a home on Coolibar Street, Canley Heights and executed a search warrant.

Thirty three cannabis plants were allegedly found in another hydroponic system inside the home.

The plants seized have an estimated street value of $140,000.

Following further inquiries, about 3pm yesterday today, a 49-year-old woman attended Cabramatta Police Station where she was arrested.

She was charged with enhanced indoor cultivation of cannabis for commercial purposes (x2).

The woman was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today tomorrow.

Inquiries are continuing.
