Two injured after stolen utility hits tree in Enfield

Police are investigating after a stolen utility crashed into a tree in Sydney’s inner-west, NSW Police say.

Just before midnight on Friday 22 September 2017, police were patrolling Punchbowl Road, Lakemba, when they were alerted a stolen vehicle.

Police will allege when they attempted to stop the Holden Commodore utility it accelerated away.

A short time later, the officers located the vehicle on Cosgrove Road, Enfield, after it had struck a parked car, before hitting a tree.

The driver, a 17-year-old boy and his passenger, a 28-year-old man, were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St George Hospital.

Officers attached to Campsie Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

It is expected the teenage boy and the man will be taken to Campsie Police Station where they will assist with inquires.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
